2016 Mother's Day Mantle

Happy Mother's Day!!

I sure did make a mantle in my honor! Lol!
As you can see, Lil Hunkie is a little bit creative like his momma! I thought it would be sweet to display his recent artwork for me on a "Mother's Day" mantle.

I'm loving my marquee W...someday I will get batteries and use the lights with it!
And I love that this mantle is so colorful! Just like Lil' Hunkie!

Hope your day is sweet!

2016 St. Patrick's Day Mantle

I'm really not a fan of having Easter in March.  There's not much time to decorate for it!
I know, I know....#firstworldproblems right?
Since Easter is early I mentioned not doing the mantle for St. Patrick's Day and going straight to Easter but Lil' Hunkie would have none of it! So I just kept it simple....used what I had....the big W is new that I had and just hadn't used yet and then the glitter W is a Heidi Swapp Marquee letter I got half off at Hobby Lobby. I thought it would be fun to have! I busted out my We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board to make the chevron shapes for the banner, added some foam shamrocks I had  and that was it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day lovelies!

2016 Valentine Mantle

Last weekend we finally put the Christmas back in the little red barn and got the Valentine and Easter out.  I sure do wish I had room to store it all in the house but I just don't.
So....sure does make for some family exercise at least!!

I bought this cute artwork last year after Valentine's Day from Ross. I pulled the chalkboard heart and flowers together and had one side done. Then I went to the Dollar Tree and found the black square frame that I simply put a piece of scrapbook paper in and then found the '&' in the Target Spot. Doily hearts came from Dollar Tree too. ☺  Cute, simple, black, pink, floral mantle!

Played with angles with  my new camera!!

So now we are ready for V Day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Cell phone snap of my 2015 Thanksgiving Mantle. ☺

"You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over for you is not only a pleasure, it's a must.  We have to do it. Your faith is growing phenomenally; your love for each other is developing wonderfully.  Why, it's only right that we give thanks."
2 Thessalonians 1:2 The Message

Thanking God for you today lovelies!
Happy Thanksgiving!

2015 Scary Free Halloween Mantel

Well Halloween is almost here!! This year we ordered Lil' Hunkie's costume in plenty of time....last year he wanted to be Mickey Mouse and we waited too long to buy in a store and he had to settle being a shark....the cutest one I've ever seen! So this time I wanted to make sure he got what he wanted and just ordered it online! He's going as Paw Patrol's Marshall which in turn has had him request a Paw Patrol birthday pawty! ;) Gonna be fun!

Here's this year's scary free mantel...simple black and gold glitter! Cost:$0!! Yep I had all these things here and there....I had a canvas that I just swiped on 2 different glitter paints on....the chevron tray was one I had found on clearance at Hobby Lobby a while back that I've never done anything with...framed a piece of glitter scrapbook paper.....and the mirrors I bought on sale at Home Depot that I intend to add to my gallery wall someday. Never could decide on a banner so since the mantel will change briefly to a Happy Birthday one and then right to Thanksgiving I decided not to worry with it!
I'm loving gold and glitter and black and white right now!

We have Trunk or Treat at church and Fall Party at school next week....can't wait for the fun!

Happy Saturday lovelies!

2015 Patriotic Mantle

Kept things simple with this year's Patriotic mantle.
We are in prep mode for vacation so simple was the way to go!
My church's ladies group had a paint night in June and we painted a patriotic version of Starry, Starry Night and the instructor added our new sanctuary!  She was very kind and gave me one of hers (she painted an example and then painted one with us) so I have one for my new office!
 So excited about that!

Wishing you and yours a safe and fun 4th!!

2015 Handmade Easter Mantle

I sure do love having a mantle as a decorating canvas.  You should have seen me when putting it together for Easter.  I moved the objects around so many times and had that white metal scroll thrown in there a time or two.  Once I settled on the final arrangement and added last year's floral garland it dawned on me that every single thing I have made!  I had painted Jesus this time last year in my first ever paint class.  So everything but the Cross Canvas I have used before. I like reusing things just in different ways!
Here's links to everything...

(this one goes way back!)

I love how bright and colorful this mantle is!!

Easter countdown is on! Hopefully I'll be ready after a day of shopping tomorrow!

2015 St. Patrick's Day Mantle

Yay for  my 2nd St. Patrick's Day Mantle! It's been up for about a week and will be coming down next week since Easter is fast approaching! I didn't want to spend a whole of money to put this mantle together and as a matter of fact I spent none at all! My Secret Sister from church got me the cross last year so I didn't use it until now. And then I simply put a green, sparkly chevron piece of card stock
in the white frame and double stuck a shamrock to the corner and then pulled the open frame from my craft stash and used some twine to hang shamrocks with clothespins.  Made the tissue garland and that was it!

Nice and easy and simple and cute and...and... I could go on!!

But I won't! ☺

Have a Happy Day lovelies!

{Sharing} 2015 Valentine's Day Mantel

I just love the Target Dollar Spot. Really, who does not? There's not many times that I walk past it, how about you? I picked up that cute 'be mine' sign not knowing what I'd really do with it.  When I got started on getting the Valentine décor out a 'be mine' theme quickly became evident and what other kind of banner was there to make other than a 'be mine' one!

I have some paperback books I got free at a garage sale that I've stashed to craft with and so I busted them out to make my banner.  I just folded pages once longwise and cut a heart out.  I had printed off the words and just used a sharpie to trace and fill in the letters. Found some cute felt stickers in the Dollar Spot to decorate a heart. Hung with twine and clothespins and done!

I think we're ready for love day now!!
Well that's not true.  We still have classmate Valentine's and teacher Valentine's to get! Ha!
But that won't be work, it'll be fun!! ☺

Happy Thursday lovelies!!

2014 Fall Mantle

A couple of weeks ago I was in Sam's checking out their cupcakes.  And of course looked at all their Christmas! Well down a decor aisle I came across the Give Thanks art that I had seen before and liked but didn't want to pay $30 for.  Honestly, that's probably a good price since the art is reversible! It has 'Welcome' on the other side. But to my giddy surprise they were marked down to $9.81!! How could I pass that up? Well I didn't and I actually bought one for my Secret Sister at church too! Woohoo!
So I added some flowers and pumpkins and was done with my Fall Mantle in no time!  I did think about adding a banner of some kind but we are going to be gone the week of Thanksgiving on vacation ( insert excited face!) so I just kept it simple!

I love it! I will probably use the 'Welcome' side for a January mantle!!

And since I did take pictures of this last week but the lighting was yuck and decided to redo them I thought I'd #keepitreal and show you the real picture......

The struggle is real ya'll!! I know you know!!

Happy Thanks and Giving time lovelies!!

2014 Scary Free Halloween Mantel

Got my mantel done!!  Bought some feather garland from Hobby Lobby today to finish it out.
 Get it? Owls and feathers!
And besides my printable the rest is old.  Guess I need to switch it up for next time! This will work since we're about 2 weeks away from Halloween!

Happy "Owl"oween lovelies!!

2014 Patriotic Mantle

I love having a mantle! This is the only space I decorated for the 4th and having this space to change out decor on is sure fun! A few things I kept from last year. Found the flag mug in some old Easter stuff and couldn't wait to use it! Then of course with some printables and that wood shim star I finished this up in no time!

Can't hardly believe it's almost time for the 4th! It keeps getting more fun and more fun with Lil' Hunkie!
He loves Firecracker Day!

Happy Thursday lovelies!

2014 Easter Mantle

Excited to finally share my Easter mantle today!! It might be my favorite mantle yet!

After putting out all the Easter decor I only had my cross tray on the mantle.  Well and that metal scroll that pretty much stays put! So I decided to do a cross/floral theme and bust out the craftiness!  As you know, I crafted with wood shims for the first time and loved how easy they are to work with! The final touch is a easy diy floral garland that I saw Courtney of Pizzazzerie share from her baby shower. All you do is hot glue flowers to a rope! Got all my supplies at the Dollar Tree so it was about $16! I love it so much I might have to make one for fall!!
Go here to see the tutorial!

Loving that this is almost an all crafted mantle!!
