Ode To The Homemade Baby Gift {2}

I've been at it again.  Making baby gifts.  And finally got to make some for a girl!!
Recently my go to combo gift has been a diaper cradle, onesie, burp cloths and/or a blanket.  This time I wanted to change things up a little with how I embellished the onesies and burp cloths and managed some cuteness!
I also did a special packaging which is where we'll begin...

I took this...
{...at who knows what time of night so excuse the phone pic!}

and turned it into this.......

All I did was take a patterned scrapbook paper and traced all 4 sides. Cut out and glued on.  Then I took a scrapbook paper with the cute words on it and cut a strip and glued.  Then added the brown ribbon and some scrapbook stickers. Done and excited!

Then I added these...

I actually wanted a plain pink onesie but Target didn't have any and Lil' Hunkie had fallen asleep so I couldn't go searching.  I've seen some beautiful hand crafted onesies on Pinterest that have been dyed and embellished.  Well couldn't find any dye at Target either.  So it had been a while since I had done it but I decided to tea stain the onesies and wished I had done the burp cloths too!  I just googled 'how to tea stain a onesie' and read a couple different articles.  Basically, you wash items, boil water, turn off heat, insert as many black tea bags as you want, let steep for at least 15 minutes, take bags out and insert items to be stained, and let soak for about 15 minutes to an hour, stirring the pot every now and then.  Once done, rinse with cold water and then dry.  I then simply sewed eyelet onto neckline and shoulders and kept things simple on the burp cloths, added to one end.  Done and excited again!

And then put it all together!

This just might have to be my signature gift! What'd ya think?

And I was excited to finally make a girl cradle!

See my first one in my first Ode to the Homemade Baby Gift post and find instructions at It's All In The Details.

Oh and I made this for my friend who's going to be a grandmother for the first time...
...simple but one of a kind.  ☺

Add cupcakes to all of that and I was one worn out girl!
But it was all worth it.

Happy Thursday!!

Go Handmade for Mother's Day!

{This is a sponsored post by Chez Mukweto.  All opinions are mine.}

Good Morning Lovelies!
By my calculations there's about 3 weeks till a very important day of the year...Mother's Day.
If you are like me, you have a mother who has just about everything and doesn't really need anything.
So what to do?
I say go handmade!
 Handmade either by yourself or someone else in my opinion, is a different kind of special.
One idea is some cozy slippers from Chez Mukweto.

Yes these are my cute chubby feet! I've been wearing these and they are comfy!
My first thought when I pulled them out of the box is how very well crafted they are.  I know only enough crochet to crochet a straight line for a scarf so I'm amazed at how these are made!  They have formed to my feet perfectly and are keeping them nice and warm. {I can't stand to have cold feet!}

Of course Jacqueline can make any color, color combo you like in sizes 3-11.  I think these would be great alone or with a pedicure gift card or in a foot care basket!

And would my own mom like some? Yep! She loves slippers!
Go check out Jacqueline's Etsy shop Chez Mukweto and tell her I sent you.

Wishing you all an early Happy Mother's Day!
