Necklace Redo Series #5

Are you ready for this week's Redo?
Up until now they have all been easy.  I decided to make a bracelet and while I love how it turned out, I had to make some adjustments of how to construct it.  If anyone can tell me some other ways I'd love to know them!
Here's what I started with.......
....these are what I bought new besides the necklace for this project.  The beads were half off at Hobby Lobby. Since I didn't use all the beads this was about a $5 project!

Supplies:
Necklace
Bracelet clasp
Beads
Silk thread for beading
Crimping beads are in the photo but I didn't use them!

Started off by measuring about 7 1/2 inches of the pearl necklace and cut two strands from it.

Then I took the light green and pink beads only and beaded them on a piece of thread.
I had to add a clear bead to each end to make it long enough. I then tied it with a knot onto the clasp.

Here's where I had some road bumps!  I was hoping that I would be able to thread through the pearls. Nope! I even tried a straight pin! So I had to figure out a way to get the pearls attached to the clasp.  Enter the fancy bead cap!.........

........and cement!!

It was also a little tricky trying to figure out how to attach the bead cap....enter the jump ring!  I looped it through the bottom and out the side.

Here's one end...

.......and the other end.  I then glued the pearls into the bead caps.

A little tricky but a pretty result!

Hopes this inspires you today!!

Outside the Cupcake Stand Box

Today's post is more of a tip than a tutorial.  I wanted to share some different uses for a cupcake stand.  And just let me say now, I apologize for the few photos.  I'm a visual learner and like having lots of photos.  Lil Hunkie hasn't been feeling well this week and so I didn't get to do what I had planned.  That's the way it goes sometimes so I'm relying on your imagination today!!

With any stand, be it a cupcake stand like the photo or ones with a solid surface, the possibilities are endless! Add some shot glass/votive type glasses and here we go!

As a Centerpiece:
Add some flowers and candles.

As a Candy station
(this is leftover bubble gum from Lil Hunkie's birthday party, it didn't turn out like I had visualized but hope this helps you visualize)

As an Appetizer station
I've used the glass cups and put dip in the bottom and then added carrot and cucumber sticks.

As a Soup Shooter station
Add a couple different flavors and some crackers.

As a Bead station
Put different bead supplies in the cups and let teenage girls make their own bracelets/necklaces.

As a Photo holder
Use mini clothespins to hold photos.  This would work best with a solid surface stand. Even small frames would work depending on the size of the stand.

I would love to hear any ideas you have!  Hope this inspires you today!
