Halloween Treats

Happy Halloween!
How has everyone's festivities been?  We are taking Lil' Hunkie to a local church's Trunk or Treat this evening and not handing out candy.  Boo! I like it but we took the less expensive route this year and are just focusing on Lil' Hunkie.  We do have some neighbors with little ones who usually come over so I made them some treats and also chose to Boo someone for the first time!  Do you know what that is?  I had never heard of it till now but basically you leave treats on a neighbor's doorstep anonymously with a "We've been Booed" sign and instructions for them to in turn boo someone else.   There's all kinds of free printables out there!  I chose The Tomkat Studio's version.
It was fun!

And here's my treats!
Ghost Eyes~Rolos
Ghosts~White Chocolate covered Nutter Butters
Candy Corn M&M Cookies

I just used scrapbook paper to fold over the top of a sandwich bag and wallah! Easy cute packaging!
Of course the Nutter Butter ghosts are all over the place and I simply googled 'monster eye treats' and found the Rolo idea at It Is What It Is.  So stinkin' easy and very cute I must say!
For our neighbors I used another free printable by Mommy by Day...Crafter by Night and stapled all three bags together with the tag on the front.

Finally I made Peeps Smores for my niece and nephews!  This idea came from Christi of Love From The Oven.  If you're not familiar with her...she's a sweet genius and I love all her baking creativity!

Fun, simple, cute treats!!

Have a Happy Day and be safe!

Project Pink

Today is a special post.  I'm joining Marilyn of The Artsy Girl Connection for Project Pink.  Friday I paid a special pink tribute to one of my grandmothers who had breast cancer and beat it.
{Find the link to it below.}
Today I'd like to honor my mother in law, who has also beat breast cancer.  She's a strong woman!  If she lived closer I'd like to start a little soiree tradition that'd be a smaller version of one of these:

A tradition that I can do and am going to start {yes I should have done it already!} is to send her a card in the mail.  I love getting cards in the mail! And even though it's a simple gesture I know it'll touch her heart.  I'm going to start with this pretty awesome printable...

....it's at Vale Design and is free to download!

Have you posted about breast cancer lately? Have you crafted, baked, cooked, photographed, painted your finger nails, bought some pink goodies or wrote a special 'pink' post recently?  Then link up with us!!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-Living For Today

Today's Chapel  is compliments of my Dad.  Last Sunday during worship God gave Daddy a revelation that I thought was pretty awesome and spoke to me.  And I hope it speaks to you too.
We have a projector that we use during worship...one of the backgrounds had 3 crosses on it.  God showed Daddy that we live between two crosses...on one side there's yesterday...the past.  We can't change it but yet sometimes it's hard get over or let go of certain things in our past.
On the other side is tomorrow...the future.  We worry about what may or may not happen.
But God wants us to just live for today...the now.
Psalm 118:24 KJV
"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
{Daddy quotes the scripture to himself everyday!}
What Jesus did on the cross takes care of our yesterday and our tomorrow.  As well as our today!!
God doesn't want us worrying about anything...not one thing...so that we can focus on the present and make the most of it.
Matthew 6:27 NIV
"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Nope!!
Let's remember this...
Philippians 4:19 NIV
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Amen!

Don't know about you but there's new meaning to the 3 crosses!
Have a Happy Halloween Weekend!

Journal Exchange Notebook

I know, why wouldn't the title of this post be 'Journal Exchange Journal'?  Well because I couldn't ever find a journal I liked!  I'm helping April at Gingerbread celebrate her blogiversary by participating in her Journal Exchange. This might look familiar....

I thought it a fun, great idea since I use a notebook to plan my week and make notes.
And I actually have a journal that's ready to use,  but I wanted to embellish it and wasn't getting any ideas.  So for the past few weeks I've been on the look out and finally I found a cute notebook at Target!
I think it's pretty cool for a few reasons....
1. it's a pretty pink
and
2. it's monogram...comes with letters and even a few graphics!
See?

Then I remembered my first Pick Your Plum purchase and the crafty light bulb came on!!

Then I dug in my ribbon stash and found these pretties....
The suede piece I've had for a long time, can't even remember why, where, or what.  And the ombre ribbon came from a floral/gift shop that I used to work at and is actually floral ribbon but it's orange and unique and that's why I have it!

I then went through all my flowers and picked these...

After playing around with where I wanted what to go I busted out the hot glue gun and started gluing!
First I weaved the tiny pink ribbon in the grommets of the suede strip and lightly glued the ends down.   Then I glued the solid orange ribbon to the straight edge of the suede.  Next I added the ombre ribbon next to the solid orange and glued my now orange with pink suede strip to the notebook.  Finally glued down the flowers to the bottom right corner of the initial.

What do ya think?  I think K is for Kute!!

I love how it turned out!!
Happy Anniversary April!!

Happy Thursday!

Soiree Day-Tiffany & Co.Inspired Birthday Luncheon

When I saw this birthday luncheon I knew immediately that I wanted to share it!!  What girl wouldn't want a Tiffany birthday party? I'm still dreaming of owning a piece of Tiffany jewelry!!
The fun, creative Tasha of Frugalicious Me planned this little shindig for one of her friends who turned 50 but still looks like she's 40!!  And you won't believe what Tasha pulled off with just $25!! Now that's one heck of a party planner!

Check it out!
Favors were glitter tealights and paper covered kitchen matchbooks.  Love!!
The beautiful table set with painted and glittered tin canisters as centerpieces.
Painted and wrapped canvases to look like the ever so famous box!
 Fun cake!!

I love how it all turned out!! I just might have to request my own Tiffany luncheon when I turn 40...choke...can't breath...
I still have oh about 4 years till that happens but my heart just about stopped when I typed that!!  I swear I was 20 yesterday!! Geez!

Fabulous job Tasha!!
Happy Soiree Day!!

Easy White Chicken Chili

One of the best things about fall is chili!! At least that's what I think!  I've already made 2 pots!  One of them was a very tasty White Chicken Chili that is quickly becoming one of my go to recipes.

This is easy because I use this...

You can follow the packet or this is my slightly different version.

Easy White Chicken Chili
1 tbsp oil
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into cubes
2 cans of white beans, undrained
1 can chopped green chilies, undrained

Make it:
Cook chicken in oil about 5 minutes till no longer pink.  Add seasoning mix, beans, and chilies, bring to boil.  Cover and reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Of course, top with your favorite chili toppings!! I love cheese! I've put sour cream and avocado on this too and oh so yummy!

What's your favorite chili recipe?

Happy Monday!!

See my Link Parties page for where I'll be having fun at!
