Soiree Day-Fun, Fabulous, & 40 Party & Free Printable!

Hey Lovelies!
2 weeks before Christmas my beautiful sister turned 40.  I knew I wanted to do something to make it special since it was a milestone and honestly I almost let it slip by me! So I talked to my brother in law to see what he thought and we planned a small surprise party with family and a few friends.
Well I did the planning and he provided the funds, we made a great team! ☺

I chose a blue/pink theme and just kept it simple! I made a sign to use in centerpieces on the tables and even took the phrase "Fun, Fabulous, & 40" and added to a recent photo of my sis. I found a "Happy Birthday" headband at the Dollar Tree and added some balloon stickers, rhinestone "40" and some jewels for her to have a special 'hat'. My mom helped with some of the food....we made my sis's favorite sweets...chocolate covered pretzels rods, peanut butter blossoms and carrot cake cupcakes! Yum!
I also used blue and pink Sixlets in appetizer dishes to add some colored fun!

Carnations are my sister's favorite flowers. One bunch was enough to do centerpieces in some of my collection of recycled glass jars! I used 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of scrapbook paper and $1 plastic frames to finish off the centerpieces.  Easy and cheap!

It was a nice evening and sis was truly surprised!

Like the sign I made? Well I'm sharing!! Just right click and save!
I also made a favor tag that I didn't get to use so hope someone can!

Enjoy!

Happy Soiree Day!

Soiree Day-A Little Birdie Birthday

Bird party themes are popular right now and I found a fabulous one!!  This was for a girl's 2nd birthday but could be adapted for a baby shower up to age 5 I would think.  It's cute, trendy and best of all simple.

Soiree Day-Vintage Carnival 1st Birthday

Happy Tuesday!
I hosted our church's ladies meeting Friday night and I tell ya, I wore myself out getting the house ready! I really think it's the excessive heat we are having! I started the day out by doing the touch up paint on the outside of the house and felt like I was on one our Mission Trip's to Mexico! Sheesh!  So I took me a little break!  All is well now!
I found the loveliest Vintage Carnival 1st Birthday while browsing Someday Craft's link party last week and am excited to share it today!

True loveliness! This soiree is a great example of  DIY planning and using what you have. Or what your mother has! I  really love how it turned out!  Be sure and visit Lauren's blog for more pictures and party resources!

Soiree Day-Sweet 16 Superhero Costume Party

I can't believe it happened....but it did.  I now have a 16 year old niece! Gee whiz where did the time go?
She decided on a Superhero Costume Party. And it was fun!  Sharing just a little bit of the party today.  I worked on balloons right up till start time.  Then while I was trying to get some pictures and juggling Lil' Hunkie, they turned some of the lights out! So these are by no means the best pics, but wanted you to see our  fun! The party was held in our church gym so there was plenty of room!

Basically my sister kept everything general superhero. Which I think is an easy way to carry out the theme!  The individual cupcake holders were found at Big Lots and did you know you can get some pretty yummy cupcakes at Sam's? Yep that's where those came from...30 for about $13!
And we couldn't go without the ever popular Superhero Lollipop!   The sweet table was for all to enjoy but the bottlecap necklaces and keychains my niece gave out personally. Nice touch.

Most everyone came in costume or at least a superhero tshirt. And the guest of honor dressed up as her favorite superhero....a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle of course! Here she is with her cousin in front of a 'photo booth' we set up...

When I left, she and all her friends were dancing away!
It was truly a fun, memorable sweet 16!

Happy Soiree Day!

Super Hero For A Day!

I get to be a Super Hero tonight!!  And it's all thanks to my sweet niece who turned 16 on Wednesday.  She chose a Super Hero Costume Party! So fun!  Hunkie has to work so it'll be a 'date' for me and Lil' Hunkie.  At first I thought it would be cute to be Super Aunt but what would I do for Lil' Hunkie? Time to be a little creative.  Mask plus homemade super hero shirt is what I went with!

I simply printed off the word 'super' and a wheel graphic, put those inside the shirt and used a red sharpie to trace and fill in.  Our last name is Wheeler...get it? The Super Wheels!  I try to be clever sometimes!
And to help in party prep I made some super hero bottle cap necklaces and key chains as a favor...

Very easy!
So today is a fun day with a little bit of joyful tears.  My niece is the oldest of the grand kids for my parents and is also the only girl so you can imagine just how special this occasion is! I wrote a nice sentiment on her Facebook wall and made it through without a tear but then I started reading what everyone else wrote and bawled like a baby for a minute!  She's a one of a kind young lady and I'm excited to share in her milestone.  More than likely I'll share more on Soiree Day.

Until then, this is Super Wheel Jennifer saying have a great Friday!
{Heeheehee!}
