{Freebie} Valentine Lockscreens~S3 & Iphone 5 & 4!

I have been waiting patiently for my husband to help me put the Christmas decorations back in the loft of our little red building. It's either been extremely too cold or because one of us has been sick.  I'm crossing my fingers it will happen this week! And I can decorate for Valentine's Day! Until then, I had to do something Valentiney around here so I made some lockscreens and even made some for Iphone! I figured if I was going to be a 'lockscreen maker' then I needed to include the Apple lovers too!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-Saturday Song

I don't know about you but a good worship song just does my spirit good.
Tomorrow we are doing a new to us song in church...Holy Spirit by Brian & Katie Torwalt.
We are doing the Kim Walker-Smith/Jesus Culture version which you just can't ever go wrong with Jesus Culture anything in my opinion!  The Torwalt's are excellent too. I've been trying to learn how to do a harmony part and so I searched good ole You Tube for some help and found a simple, lovely acoustic version that I could listen to over and over and over...
Well I actually did!
You should listen too!
Enjoy and have a Happy Saturday!

{Recipe} 3 Ingredient Bean Dip

One of my favorite soups growing up was Campbell's Bean with Bacon. I can't remember when it was, possibly in college...that I noticed it came with some recipes on the inside of the label. One of them being a dip recipe.  Now I have tried searching for it and didn't really discover what I thought I remembered it being. So this may very well be the Jennifer version! It's still good!
And easy to add what you want to make it your own!

3 Ingredient Bean Dip
1 can Bean with Bacon soup
1 cup favorite salsa
1 cup shredded cheese

Empty soup into a microwave safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes.
Add salsa and cheese and stir to combine.
Serve with tortilla chips.

I made nachos with this and added sour cream and it was soooo good!

Happy Thursday lovelies!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-One Day with the Son

What's this a chapel post?!
Yes, yes it is!
These posts are for me to share nuggets God gives me soooooo if there's no nugget then I really don't want to force anything and that's why it's been quiet around here concerning the chapel posts.  Given this year's one word is "more"....more of God and so much less of me....then one of my blog goals is to be more consistent with the nuggets!  I just want to focus more on what God is saying because He is speaking always. Right? Right!

Within the last month our weather here in Oklahoma has been just yuck. Well if you like snow and ice then maybe not so much yuck for you. We've gotten a good amount of snow about twice. And so twice now I've been amazed at the power of the sun.  In one day's time all it took to melt all the snow and ice away was the sun. One sun filled day and everything was back to normal.
Isn't it the same with the Lord?
One day in the presence of the Son soothes our souls...puts everything right again...heals our hurts.
Have you experienced this? I sure have and I can testify that what Psalm 84:10 says is oh so true.  Nothing compares to the presence of the Lord!
Be blessed today lovelies!

Psalm 84:10
"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

{Recipe} 3 Ingredient Veggie Dip

Who's ready for the Super Bowl?
We are not fanatics in our house and honestly I may not even watch it this year. But if I was at home in my comfy clothes watching I'd want to be munching on this yummy dip.  In case you missed me sharing this over at Tatertots and Jello last month for New Year's well then here it is for the biggest football game of the year!

Back in the summer I was needing something a little different to take to our monthly ladies meeting at church other than a dessert and found Lipton's Vegetable dip and soup mix at my local grocery store.  Well I just glanced at what it took to make the dip and when I got home I hadn't gotten enough ingredients. So I improvised and made my own version! And then upon further inspection of the box I just really combined 2 of the recipe suggestions! Ha! But it was a hit and I had people wanting the recipe! I made it again for my bunco babes and they loved it too!

3 Ingredient Veggie Dip
1 packet Lipton Vegetable soup and dip mix
 8 oz cream cheese, softened
8 oz sour cream

Mix all ingredients together.
Let chill for 2 hours and serve with your favorite crackers and/or veggies.

Tips: *This is pretty thick after chilling. You can add 2 tablespoons of milk to thin.
*My favorite cracker to serve with this is one that is seasoned with rosemary, the rosemary just adds another layer of flavor to the dip! (I used Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuts today.)
*Instead of serving this as a dip, spread onto crackers, add a slice of cucumber and you have a
simple hor d'oevere! Yes I did try this combination and I wanted to eat them all!

So easy and yummy!
And if you're digging the 3 ingredient recipe then I'll be sharing another one next week that's perfect for the game too!

Happy Thursday!

January Mantle

And with a knick knack here and a knick knack there my January mantle was done!
I tend to use warm colors in my general decorating. I have just a few things with sentimental value that I decided to use that were perfect!

I used some old ribbon and an old clip earring for a different take on a banner.
And of course used one of my January printables.

I think that will do until time for Valentine's day!
Happy Thursday!

{Freebie} January Printables

How do you decorate in January?
I usually put everything back to normal after Christmas but this year I'm thinking about making a January mantle for a bit before I get the Valentine's stuff out. And the easiest thing to decorate with is a printable.  I found some lovely quotes about January and made some printables to share!

Just right click and save and print!
Enjoy!

{Sharing} One Word 2014

Last year was my first year of choosing one word to guide me through the year.
I kept seeing several people share theirs for this year on Instagram and began thinking about doing this exercise again.  I admit, I was feeling a little blue because nothing was coming to me.  Maybe it is the fact that I don't feel a complete success with living unhindered for God the entire year.  Looking back though, I'm sure God doesn't see it the same as me.  And remembering the outstanding encounter I had with Him on our ladies retreat....well that event alone I was completely unhindered for Him. But since that retreat I've felt dry. But I've also felt like God was teaching me unhindered trust in Him in a dry season.  A dry season is not the absence of God or His Spirit or Him accomplishing things on our behalf. It is the 'are you going to truly believe He is with you at all times' season. And I believe He is.  Still I was a little worried there would be no word from the Lord for 2014.  But I was gladly wrong!
Yesterday morning I was cleaning the kitchen.  Cleaning house is more enjoyable with your favorite music on in my opinion so I had Hillsong's Glorious Ruins playing. My favorite song came on...To Be Like You...while wiping the microwave and out of the blue my eyes filled with tears and a lump came to my throat and dropped in my spirit was the word 'more'.  And right there, doing nothing special, God sweetly showed up.
More of Him and so much less of me.
And so, today my church is staring it's annual 21 day fast. I'm thankful to have my word to focus on during this time! Among certain foods, I'll be fasting Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I'll still be here blogging.  I'm excited to start 2014 this way! Do you have a word?
And here, be blessed with this......
