Remember my Patriotic Wreath from last week?
Well I pulled a Superman* and now have a Summer Wreath!
(*You know...one minute you're Clark Kent then next you're Superman!)
I discovered a new way to make a medallion! By accident as I was trying to make a ruffle! Tip: if you want a ruffle with the thread running down the center I find it best to use the sewing machine and not by hand! This is probably a "Duh!" ☺
Supplies:
Wreath
Fabrics
Needle & thread
Ribbon
Hot glue gun
Felt and pins

I used fabrics and ribbon I had already. The yellow fabric was given to me and honestly I did think "what am I going to do with yellow-gold fabric?" Well I think it goes great with good ole' pink!
I cut a strip about 3 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches long and down the center made a long stitch....
....then I pulled it to ruffle it but it was not what I wanted! So I just pulled it all the way tight and looky there! Looks like a medallion!
To secure it, I ran the needle back threw....did this a couple of times.
Then I tied ribbon around the middle and knotted in the back. Used my really big thumb! (It's not really but wow!)
I then fanned it out and hot glued together....
....made 2 pink and 2 yellow of the same size. Then went a little bigger and made 2 more pinks. And lastly made a bigger yellow...7 altogether. Hot glued felt and pin to the back of each and.........
.......just like that! A Summer Wreath!
I'm liking this no cost wreath!
If you're wondering about me needing to make a ruffle, I am working on replacing the Patriotic Flag I made for a guest post at Craftionary !! I'm so stinkin' excited!!
Happy Thursday!
