Alright, this week's necklace is the brown one and thought I'd try my first ruffle!!
Here we go!
Materials needed:
Necklace
Fabric strips-mine were about 13 inches long and 4 inches wide
sewing machine
needle and thread
Cut fabric so that you have 2 strips...wrong side facing each other so that the right side of fabric is seen from front and back. Hope that makes sense!
Make a basting(longest stitch) stitch about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from side on one of the longest sides of fabric. I decided to leave the edges raw.
Pull thread on the underneath....the bobbin thread...to make fabric ruffle.
Ok so a couple of notes:
#1 this is my first ruffle and I am by no means a ruffle expert!
#2 At this stage is when I texted a pic to my sis asking if the ruffle was too wide. She agreed with me that it was so I trimmed it to be about 2 1/2 inches wide. Thanks sis!
Finally hand sew the ruffle to the necklace. I just sewed at the two beads where the fabric edge is on both sides
This was pretty easy and I really like how it turned out! And it might be my favorite.....but there's still 3 more to go!!!
