Chic Couture-Hurry Up Spring!

I am so ready for Spring!
I'm not much on Winter fashion and as a matter of fact I really don't like wearing a coat! I have enough padding and coats just add to that! Any one else?
What I love about Spring is it's pretty dresses!
Inspired by ProFlowers roses page I created this Hurry Up Spring look in Polyvore....
Hurry up, Spring!

And yes I had to add the Naked 3 palette!!
I used some Christmas money and bought one and have been loving it!!

Surely I'm not alone in wishing Ole' Man Winter would get the heck out of dodge?
Happy Friday lovelies!!

{Freebie} Valentine Lockscreens~S3 & Iphone 5 & 4!

I have been waiting patiently for my husband to help me put the Christmas decorations back in the loft of our little red building. It's either been extremely too cold or because one of us has been sick.  I'm crossing my fingers it will happen this week! And I can decorate for Valentine's Day! Until then, I had to do something Valentiney around here so I made some lockscreens and even made some for Iphone! I figured if I was going to be a 'lockscreen maker' then I needed to include the Apple lovers too!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-Saturday Song

I don't know about you but a good worship song just does my spirit good.
Tomorrow we are doing a new to us song in church...Holy Spirit by Brian & Katie Torwalt.
We are doing the Kim Walker-Smith/Jesus Culture version which you just can't ever go wrong with Jesus Culture anything in my opinion!  The Torwalt's are excellent too. I've been trying to learn how to do a harmony part and so I searched good ole You Tube for some help and found a simple, lovely acoustic version that I could listen to over and over and over...
Well I actually did!
You should listen too!
Enjoy and have a Happy Saturday!

Chic Couture-January Beauty Boxes

Well I can't hardly believe it's time for another beauty box post! January is almost gone! Wow!
For probably the first time ever I loved my Birchbox better than my Glambag! Everything in my Birchbox was right up my alley this time so I loved it! The Glambag was still good. ☺

I choose the Modern Beauty box since I wanted both products offered. And by doing so I'm pacing myself on the polish! The Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover I find to work well.  I had read somewhere that it'd even help yellowing nails and that hasn't worked for me but as far as the cuticles I think it's great.  And I loooove the Ta Da Quick Dry Drops! They work for me! I already have the cuticle oil so I may be giving this one away. Soon. Hint, hint.

I watched the sneak peak video on Birchbox's blog and they talked about the Serge Normant Dry Conditioner and knew I wanted it! Same concept as dry shampoo but conditioner for your ends! I've used it twice and like it, seems to soften my ends which I tend to be dry.  Think I need to use it a bit more to decide if I will purchase or not.
The rest of my box:
Nail Rock Nail Velvet in Navy
(Seriously kinda cool! Only used it once...need a bit more practice with application but your nails really feel like velvet!)
Harvey Prince Journey Perfume
(Lovely scent, especially for Spring!)
Burt's Bees Day Lotion
(Don't think you can go wrong with Burt!)
Inika Mineral Eye shadow
(I got the gray shade and it is pretty!)

See? Thumbs up for everything from me!!

Well I've only used one thing out of this and it's the Yaby Foundation.  I got the shade Buff and surprisingly it  is right! Coverage is good and seems to last all day.
The rest of my bag:
Absolute Makeup Cleansing Tissues
Balanced Guru Body Balm
Malin+Goetz  Lip Balm
Benefit The Porefessional
Smelly but cool graphics makeup bag

Overall, January was a gooood beauty box month!

{Recipe} 3 Ingredient Bean Dip

One of my favorite soups growing up was Campbell's Bean with Bacon. I can't remember when it was, possibly in college...that I noticed it came with some recipes on the inside of the label. One of them being a dip recipe.  Now I have tried searching for it and didn't really discover what I thought I remembered it being. So this may very well be the Jennifer version! It's still good!
And easy to add what you want to make it your own!

3 Ingredient Bean Dip
1 can Bean with Bacon soup
1 cup favorite salsa
1 cup shredded cheese

Empty soup into a microwave safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes.
Add salsa and cheese and stir to combine.
Serve with tortilla chips.

I made nachos with this and added sour cream and it was soooo good!

Happy Thursday lovelies!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-One Day with the Son

What's this a chapel post?!
Yes, yes it is!
These posts are for me to share nuggets God gives me soooooo if there's no nugget then I really don't want to force anything and that's why it's been quiet around here concerning the chapel posts.  Given this year's one word is "more"....more of God and so much less of me....then one of my blog goals is to be more consistent with the nuggets!  I just want to focus more on what God is saying because He is speaking always. Right? Right!

Within the last month our weather here in Oklahoma has been just yuck. Well if you like snow and ice then maybe not so much yuck for you. We've gotten a good amount of snow about twice. And so twice now I've been amazed at the power of the sun.  In one day's time all it took to melt all the snow and ice away was the sun. One sun filled day and everything was back to normal.
Isn't it the same with the Lord?
One day in the presence of the Son soothes our souls...puts everything right again...heals our hurts.
Have you experienced this? I sure have and I can testify that what Psalm 84:10 says is oh so true.  Nothing compares to the presence of the Lord!
Be blessed today lovelies!

Psalm 84:10
"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

Chic Couture-Bzzz Bzzz Mani

In last month's Ipsy bag I got a sample from Starrily. Starrily is an indie nail polish brand, meaning it is handmade. I received Bzzz Bzzz.... yellow and black glitters in a clear base.
Now at first I thought, what am I gonna do with this! I'm not a bumble bee fanatic nor do I really cheer for any teams with those colors.  But I still wanted to try it and pulled out a few other polishes to see what I could come up with.

First of all I filed my nails and used my new Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover from Julep. I've only used it twice but am liking it so far! And then I used a base coat from Nubar.

Then I used China Glaze Champagne Bubbles on all of my fingers except my ring fingers, I used Julep's Cleopatra for those and added gold jewels.  Next, I added the Bzzz Bzzz to my middle fingers. I did 2 coats of everything.

Finally I finished with Nubar's topcoat and Julep's Ta Da Quick Dry Drops which I love!

After I was done, I thought I might should have used white underneath the Bzzz Bzzz but I still got compliments! Ha! Overall this was one fun mani for sure!

Happy Friday!

{Recipe} 3 Ingredient Veggie Dip

Who's ready for the Super Bowl?
We are not fanatics in our house and honestly I may not even watch it this year. But if I was at home in my comfy clothes watching I'd want to be munching on this yummy dip.  In case you missed me sharing this over at Tatertots and Jello last month for New Year's well then here it is for the biggest football game of the year!

Back in the summer I was needing something a little different to take to our monthly ladies meeting at church other than a dessert and found Lipton's Vegetable dip and soup mix at my local grocery store.  Well I just glanced at what it took to make the dip and when I got home I hadn't gotten enough ingredients. So I improvised and made my own version! And then upon further inspection of the box I just really combined 2 of the recipe suggestions! Ha! But it was a hit and I had people wanting the recipe! I made it again for my bunco babes and they loved it too!

3 Ingredient Veggie Dip
1 packet Lipton Vegetable soup and dip mix
 8 oz cream cheese, softened
8 oz sour cream

Mix all ingredients together.
Let chill for 2 hours and serve with your favorite crackers and/or veggies.

Tips: *This is pretty thick after chilling. You can add 2 tablespoons of milk to thin.
*My favorite cracker to serve with this is one that is seasoned with rosemary, the rosemary just adds another layer of flavor to the dip! (I used Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuts today.)
*Instead of serving this as a dip, spread onto crackers, add a slice of cucumber and you have a
simple hor d'oevere! Yes I did try this combination and I wanted to eat them all!

So easy and yummy!
And if you're digging the 3 ingredient recipe then I'll be sharing another one next week that's perfect for the game too!

Happy Thursday!
