Patriotic Mantle

Well it's full on crazy around here! 20 year High School reunion is today among a few other things! So I have managed to squeeze in a Patriotic Mantle.  I spent a whole whopping $2 on it! I have very few patriotic decorations but using things that are blue and red you don't necessarily have to have a lot!

The bucket and flowers is what I bought new. And of course I made the printable and shared it HERE.  The eagle plaque was a Target purchase last year and had everything else. Nice and simple, easy and cute!

And I figured out a chalkboard tip! Like my bracket I made? I outlined it from a cookie cutter!! Ah hah! I will be doing that trick from now on!

Happy Thursday!

Show & Share #98

Welcome lovelies! Is your summer in full gear like mine is? All I can say is goodness! At least I'm not bored! Ha! One fun thing we managed to do was go to a local tree and berry farm and pick blackberries and blueberries! Man I loved it! My sister had taken Lil' Hunkie last year and so I sure am glad I joined the fun this time!
This was what we brought home....yum!
On to the party!

Soiree Day-Free Patriotic Printable

Well I got started on a patriotic mantle but wasn't liking what I had so I'm starting from square one again! I knew I wanted to do a printable...they are the most inexpensive, easiest way to decorate for a holiday! I jumped on PicMonkey earlier to do something else and noticed they had new effects! So made a printable to use and share! Hopefully it will be some good inspiration for myself!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-A Sweet Jesus Moment

In my opinion there's God Moments and Sweet Jesus Moments.  God Moments are full of power and anointing and can be those 'aha' moments.  Then there's Sweet Jesus Moments where the Spirit of the Lord is a sweet, peaceful, loving presence. Know what I mean?  A couple of weeks ago I had a Sweet Jesus Moment and I want to share it today so I'll remember it.
It was a Sunday morning at church. My sister and niece were on the mission trip so I helped my mom in the nursery. Mom was out of the room with Lil' Hunkie and that left me and my 6 month old nephew.  We'll call him Cousin Hunkie.  I mentioned a little about him here.  Simply put he is a pure miracle. Every time I am around him I have to hold him and get me some smiles! Well on this day me and Cousin Hunkie had us a Sweet Jesus Moment.  I was holding him and enjoying him but he started to get fussy.  The bigger kids were having their time of praise and worship and the nursery door was open so I could hear the music loud and clear.  When he started to get fussy I'd sing with the song and that got his attention, he'd look up at me with such a peaceful look on his face that almost said..."Don't stop Aunt Jenny!"  Then the words that I was singing started to sink in and I could feel the sweet spirit of the Lord with us....a Sweet Jesus Moment.

♫♪♫♪...You dance over me
While I am unaware
You sing all around
But I never hear the sound

Lord I'm amazed by You
How you love me...♪♫♪♫

How wonderful a thought that God dances and sings over us?  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He danced and sang over Cousin Hunkie and that's why he's no longer considered a preemie by his doctor.

"For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs."
Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

What a sweet, sweet moment.  Thankful to the Lord today that He provided such a wonderful reminder of what He's still doing for His children.  Amen?

Be blessed lovelies!

Chic Couture-High School Reunion Wear

Well guess what's coming up in a week?
Yep, my 20 year high school reunion!  This is the actual dress I bought to wear. It's simple with lace cap sleeves and fit surprisingly well since I ordered it online from Walmart! I only paid $15 too! Our school colors were red and black so I plan on finding some red accessories.  Fun , huh?

I'm excited to see my classmates!
Did you go to yours?

{Home} Coffee Station

2 weeks ago Natasha of Natasha In Oz linked up her at home coffee station to Show & Share. It was awesome! And inspiring! I am the only coffee drinker in my house and until now I've always been a seasonal drinker....hot in cold weather and cold in hot weather.  Here lately though I've been drinking hot........which in my mind means I might be getting old. Nah! So if I'm going to drink year round then why not fix up a station?

Having limited space for a station, I wanted some type of tray to hold a sugar and creamer set and a coffee canister.  And I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money doing this either.  So of course this meant a trip to Goodwill.  I had in my mind of what sugar/creamer set to get but thought maybe Goodwill might have something cool. Didn't find a set but I did find a wire basket ($1.50) and a cute scalloped dish ($2.00).  I figured the dish wouldn't be big enough but it was so unique that I couldn't pass it up and I wound up having the perfect use for it that I'll get to in a minute!

So after Goodwill off to Pier 1 for a sugar and creamer set I went.  I first saw a similar set at Crate and Barrel but like the Pier 1's just as well. They were $5 each.  Next Target for the coffee canister, which I decided on just so I could be done with creating a station.  It was about $12 which was a little more than I wanted to spend but it's a cool little canister! And that's it!
As you can see....not much space. The wire basket was a perfect fit!!
Filters and mugs are in cabinet above so now everything is on the same side of the kitchen!

So this station is not the only thing I've added to my kitchen.  About a month ago I found a plate stand at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $6 and wanted to use it on the counter.  Well so I needed some plates for it and found some on clearance ($2 each) at Walmart that fit perfect!

And here's my scalloped dish!  I've been wanting something for this purpose!!

I'm loving these additions and the coffee station!

Anyone else have a coffee station?

Happy Thursday!!

Hey there!
Hope you're having a good week! Lil' Hunkie was sick last week so it was pretty quiet around here. It didn't last long although we had to stay home for about 3 days straight! Ugh! We are back in the swing of things this week though and it feels good! Let's party!

Soiree Day-Father's Day Gift Ideas

So I was folding Hunkie's laundry and came across one of his favorite tshirts.  It's so favored that both armpits have holes.  I brought this to his attention and was immediately met with a "don't you even think about getting rid of that tshirt!" look.  Uh huh.  So he hinted at getting him a new one for Father's day.  That and some peace and quiet. Well!
Here's some gift ideas I found including what kind of new shirt I'd get him!

Hunkie has to stay clean shaven for his job and he's been using the classic safety razors.  I thought the Popeye kit was fun!!  I've always thought branding irons were a unique gift. And how about a sophisticated guy mason jar! And then instead of the slightly cheesy #1 Dad tshirt....you know the kind at Walmart?.....get dad a tshirt of his favorite vehicle brand or favorite band or in our case favorite big rig.

What's on your Father's Day gift idea list?

Happy Tuesday!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-30 Words Book Review

{Instagrammed the day I started 30 Words!}

I have another book review today!
Some how or another I stumbled upon Jarrid Wilson and his 30 Words Book on Instagram. More than likely it was because I was looking through the She Reads Truth hashtag. Yes I am a hashtag creeper!
What else is a hashtag for?
30 Words is a devotion that takes a word about God and our relationship with Him and studies it out for a day.  So there's 30 different words, scriptures and Jarrid's take on the daily word. I loved this concept.  It's concise. I like devotions as opposed to 'self help' Christian books....I know they are good for you but it's hard for me to stay with it and finish it out.  With 30 Words, because Jarrid shared his insights, I kinda felt like I was reading one of those 'self helps'. I'm ready for another 30 Words actually!
Here's one of my favorite quotes.....

"Satan will try and distract you the second God's truth starts to attract you."-Jarrid Wilson

So if  you are in the market for a new devotion I highly recommend this one! I bought the ebook because I didn't want to wait for it to come in the mail!
And if you're in the market to follow inspiring people then follow Jarrid. Even though he is very much geared towards ministering to his generation...which I think is outstanding and so very much needed....he still is a minister and is addressing some tough issues.
Find his book here and find him here.

Happy Saturday!!!

Father's Day Mantle

I finally got my mantle changed to Father's Day.  Just like for Mother's Day I gathered things around the house.  Snapshots of Hunkie, Lil' Hunkie and grandpas and trucks and antique keys.

Both my husband and father in law love big trucks.  The first vacation Hunkie and I took we stumbled upon an old Peterbilt that we had to stop and photograph.  So I added that pic and some trucks from Lil' Hunkie's bookcase.  Finished it off with the printable I made!

Happy Thursday!!
